who cares about a few billion for earmarks when we are spending trillions for oil wars and bailing out the rich on wall st.

What are earmarks? They are spending without review. Thus making them ripe for corruption. Earmarks are a symbol of greed and corruption. They are favors for donors and friends. They are symbol of power. They allow bills to be passed that shouldn't, because someone gains when their earmark is added and then changes their vote.

I agree earmarks should be eliminated but they are peanuts next to the military contractors and oil corps wasting or stealing trillions, add now the financial crooks more trillons stolen, earmarks are nothing compared to that, America can survive even prosper with earmarks, it can not survive deregulation and no accountability, we need to put have of wall street in jail for lying fpr breaking the law

How are the oil companies stealing trillions? The government has state and federal gas taxes. They get royalities for the oil pulled out the ground. They get income taxes when profits are made. They get income and social security taxes from the employess.
