Baliout - Executive Pay

I guess I am not alone in thinking executives should not be overly compensated.

"Comments by McCain on Sunday suggest he might propose an amendment along the lines of one I received in an e-mail message from a fellow semi-populist conservative: “Any institution selling securities under this legislation to the Treasury Department shall not be allowed to compensate any officer or employee with a higher salary next year than that paid the president of the United States.” This would punish overpaid WallStreeters and, more important, limit participation in the bailout to institutions really in trouble."

Doesn't the President make half a million per year? These guys should all be in jail and all their money confiscated to pay off the tax payer debt. Better yet they should be put to work helping the poor they helped create, especially in Iraq, Lebanon and Afghanistan.... jail costs the tax payer tons of money, especially since Bush II, and the privatization of our jails.

The President currently earns $400,000 per year, along with a $50,000 expense account, a $100,000 nontaxable travel account, and $19,000 for entertainment.
