Rangel Watch: No Interest or Penalties

I wonder why a powerful politician does not have to pay penalties?

GOP Congressman Intros 'Rangel Rule'

"Rangel, who writes the country's tax policies, acknowledged last fall that he failed to pay thousands in real estate taxes for rental income he earned from a property in the Dominican Republic.

As of September 2008 the Harlem Democrat reportedly paid back more than $10,000 in taxes but that did not include any IRS penalties."

Rep. Carter introduced a bill Wednesday to eliminate all IRS penalties and interest for paying taxes past due.

The legislation calls for the creation of what he calls the, "Rangel Rule," -- drawing attention to the recent legal issues of House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charlie Rangel, D-N.Y., enabling citizens who fail to pay taxes on time to do so later with no additional fees.

Daschle Watch: Not Paying Taxes

Can the Democrats find honest politicians? I guess paying taxes is only for rich Republicans.

Daschle Paid $100,000 in Back Taxes During Vetting

"Former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, President Barack Obama's nominee for the secretary of Health and Human Services, paid around $100,000 in back taxes after his nomination to pay for a car and driver he was supplied but did not report as income, according to documents being prepared by the Senate Finance Committee."

The Amazing Story Behind the Global Warming Scam

Obama Hypocrisy II

"We can't drive our SUV's and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times..." Barack Obama, May 16, 2008

“He’s from Hawaii, O.K.?” said Mr. Obama’s senior adviser, David Axelrod, who occupies the small but strategically located office next door to his boss. “He likes it warm. You could grow orchids in there.”

"And could this be the same Barack Obama who is looking to sign a stimulus bill that would spend billions of dollars installing millions of "smart meters" that would enable your power company to prevent you from being as comfortable as Bambi on hot and cold days?"

Blagojevich Watch:

Illinois Governor Blagojevich joins recent Democratic governors from New York and New Jersey in losing their jobs.

Obama Hypocrisy

Obama Team Includes At Least 12 Lobbyists

"The Politico reports President Obama "promised during his campaign that lobbyists 'won't find a job in my White House.'" But "at least a dozen former lobbyists have found top jobs in his administration, according to an analysis done by Republican sources and corroborated by Politico.""

" In his Wall Street Journal (1/29) column, Daniel Henninger says, "Had he been judged under the current code of political justice, Timothy Geithner would be home in New York, phoning old IMF friends for a job. Instead, the former tax scofflaw is U.S. Treasury Secretary. Call it the Geithner Exception." Henninger notes the fates of Obama foreign policy adviser Samantha Power, Clinton campaign adviser Mark Penn, and former World Bank head Paul Wolfowitz, noting that "judged by standards such as these, Tim Geithner -- a non-taxpaying Treasury Secretary -- should be toast.""

Watch: Pork (the so-called stimulus) Bill

Republican House members say no to pork spending authorized by Democrat House members. Not a single Republican voted for the bill.

So far they have eliminated sodding the mall and eliminating condoms from the bill.

These measures are not an emergency and should go through the normal legislative process.

"The provision in the draft legislation would expand federal funding for contraception through Medicaid, allowing those not poor enough to be currently eligible for Medicaid to nonetheless qualify for the contraception aid."

"House Democrats have removed $200 million from President Barack Obama's economic stimulus package that would have been devoted to renovating the National Mall. "

Einstein test

Einstein gives us a puzzle like this, for he stressed examining assumptions, and once wrote: "The important thing is to not stop questioning."

Facts:

1. There are 5 houses in 5 different colours
2. In each house lives a person with a different nationality..
3. These 5 owners drink a certain beverage, smoke a certain brand of cigar and keep a certain pet.
4. No owners have the same pet, smoke the same brand of cigar or drink the same drink.

Hints:

Hints:

1. The Brit lives in a red house.
2. The Swede keeps dogs as pets.
3. The Dane drinks tea.
4. The green house is on the left of the white house.
5. The green house owner drinks coffee.
6. The person who smokes Pall Mall rears birds.
7. The owner of the yellow house smokes Dunhill.
8. The man living in the house right in the centre drinks milk.
9. The Norwegian lives in the first house.
10. The man who smokes Blend lives next to the one who keeps cats.
11. The man who keeps horses lives next to the man who smokes Dunhill.
12. The owner who smokes Blue Master drinks beer.
13. The German smokes Prince.
14. The Norwegian lives next to the blue house.
15. The man who smokes Blend has a neighbour who drinks water.

The question for the Einstein test is ... WHO KEEPS THE FISH?

I must admit it took me longer than I though it would.
I will post the answer in a couple of weeks.

Watch: Barney Frank

Secured $12 million in taxpayer money to help his favorite bank.

link

"U.S. Rep. Barney Frank yesterday defended helping Boston’s OneUnited Bank land $12 million in federal funding, despite regulatory complaints its executives were getting “excessive” pay and even a Porshe for its CEO."

"OneUnited was also facing regulatory scrutiny last fall from other government agencies, which later slapped a cease-and-desist order on OneUnited due to “unsafe and unsound banking practices.”"

Corruption ignored.

Global Warming Update: 20th on People's List

Only 30% of the people think global warming is a top-priority. That placed it last on a list of options.

Gaza versus concentration camp

"Below is a link to an excerpt from DN on the Israeli concentration camp called Gaza, listen to it and tell me how it differs from the daily life of German concentration camps.

http://www.democracynow.org/2009/1/22/part_ii_palestinian_us_college_grad
" - Dan

The difference is Gaza is 139 sq miles and is run by the Gazans. They get millions of dollars of aid and use some of the money to buy weapons to kill the Israeli. The Germans would have killed them all instantly if they were fired on by rockets inside a concentration camp. That you think there is a significant comparison means you either don't know what when on in most German concentration camps or you refuse to use any intelligence.
