Palin Inquiry

"The report continues, “In light of this constitutional and statutory authority, it is clear that Governor Palin could fire Commissioner Walt Monegan at will, for almost any reason, or no reason at all.”"

"After months of “repeatedly ignoring the governor’s budget priorities, making public statements that directly challenged the governor’s policy agenda and taking numerous unilateral actions in conflict with the governor in support of his own policy agenda, his replacement in July 2008 should have come as no surprise,” that report said."

This is the corporate media at its best, doing their utmost to confuse the American electorate so they vote backwards, what they should be concentrating on is the fact that Palin is totally incompetent and immoral to be VP (and heaven forbid President) which shows McCain's utter disregard for democracy and equality under the law for all. This proves McCain is willing to sacrifice democracy and freedom in America for personal power...the media should be all over this, it seems SNL and the Daily Show are more accurate than the corporate media and they're Comedy Shows!!!

Wow, those are strong words -- "Palin is totally incompetent and immoral to be VP (and heaven forbid President) which shows McCain's utter disregard for democracy and equality under the law for all."

I would say obama's muslim background, his complete lack of any accomplishment, his multiple lies about his ties to the terrorist Ayers, to the criminal Rezko, to Franklin Raines, to J. Wright/Pfleger, Kenyan Prime Minister Raila Odinga, and so on make him a pretty sad example of an American. And I won't mention that he and Michelle both have had all their academic records locked up from their Columbia/Harvard days. I have a PhD, and I'm damn proud of everything I ever wrote for my degree! If you went to those two schools, wouldn't you be, too?

I suggest you read the actual report. But for now, let’s look at this trooper’s record and start with the fact that the investigation of Wooten, which led to his dismissal suspension, started before Sara Palin was elected Governor. And this is not just some messy case of he said/she said. Turns out the Wooten was an out of control law enforcement officer. An investigation of his conduct concluded that he was guilty of the following:

-- Three incidents of Unbecoming Conduct
-- Three incidents of Personal Misconduct
-- One incident of Failure to Perform Duties Properly, Use of Government Property
-- Two incidents of Conformance to Laws
-- One incident Use of Alcohol on duty
-- Three incidents of damaging/wrecking a police cruiser, for which each time he was suspended
-- One incident Operation to Be Prudent and Lawful

These violations included using a taser on his 10-year old stepson, shooting a farmer's cow moose without a valid permit, and drinking beer while operating a marked Alaska State Trooper vehicle on multiple occasions.

If you want to make the case that Palin’s husband should have ignored this clown, who reportedly made threats against the family, then you live in a world I do not know and I do not care to know. I don’t want drunken, angry, law-breaking assholes running around with a gun and badge.

Todd Palin. Good on you man, you stood up for your family.

zaine, what's wrong with a muslim background? It's no different than a Catholic or Jewish background and besides Obama is a Christian and has been a Christian for decades, the fact he has a muslim background is a plus if anything for America, cause it may help in negotiating with arab countries, he will get more respect and leverage with Arab leaders.

Obama was at the top of his class at Harvard, you know how hard it is to get into Harvard if you don't come from an elite family, next to impossible, it's so selective, you not only have to be super smart but have a strong moral character as well, no way McCain or Palin could get into Columbia or Harvard or any Ivy league school. Obama is the most competent Presidential candidat this country has ever had since Kennedy and probably since Jefferson.

As for Ayers, as far as I'm concerned he is a true patriot, an American we can be proud of, someone who had the guts to try and stop America's grossly immoral bombings of third world children in Vietnam, Ayers is a good moral person with guts to fight for his convictions, a far better American than you or I. Its too bad Obama has to denounce his association with him because most Americans are too stupid or scared to question anything their government does... which is fascist patriotism, not real patriotism.

As for the trooper thing, who cares ... it has no influence on me whatsoever concerning Palin's competence or morality, all you have to do is listen to her talk or answer questions for five minutes to know she's just a hockey mom who shouldn't even be Govenor much less a heartbeat away from the nuclear codes...this is beyond crazy it's suicide. Anyone who thinks she's more qualified than Obama is insane!

by the way what did you get you PhD in? and at what school?

Dan, thanks for responding. I appreciate it. You asked:

what's wrong with a muslim background? It's no different than a Catholic or Jewish background and besides Obama is a Christian and has been a Christian for decades, the fact he has a muslim background is a plus if anything for America, cause it may help in negotiating with arab countries, he will get more respect and leverage with Arab leaders.
First, what has islam contributed to the world since its inception other than violence and death? Second, what's there to negotiate with arabs? When have they ever negotiated anything? I recall bush saying he would "jawbone" the Saudis when running in 2000 to get them reduce the price of oil. Third, if muslims were honorable people, they would respect our president whether he was a god-believer or not. Finally, catholics and jews don't murder innocent people with suicide bombs, car bombs, or airplanes the last time I checked.

Actually, he barely cracked the top 20% of his class, which is pretty bad for the Law Review editor. Lots and lots of people have attended and graduated from Harvard. Harvard accepted -- and somehow graduated -- Bush, remember? What makes obama competent for the presidency? His only demonstrated skill is getting white people to give him money and favors. According to his own autobiographies, his moral character was far worse than Clintons. His own words state that he spent his college years drinking, smoking, and toking drugs rather than studying, and this at Columbia! How many hard-working middle class WHITE kids would have worked hard during their years given an opportunity to attend an Ivy-League school?

As for Ayers, as far as I'm concerned he is a true patriot, an American we can be proud of, someone who had the guts to try and stop America's grossly immoral bombings of third world children in Vietnam, Ayers is a good moral person with guts to fight for his convictions, a far better American than you or I. Its too bad Obama has to denounce his association with him because most Americans are too stupid or scared to question anything their government does... which is fascist patriotism, not real patriotism.
Agree with your last point, but WOW, Ayers is a good moral person? Will you follow his example and begin bombing buildings and kill innocent people? Honestly, if not, why not? If Ayers is good and moral, then his actions were also good and moral, right? obama supporters (Donna Brazile on CNN regular says this!) have consistently called for race riots in the streets if he loses. I presume you're white. Will you be outside in the wrong part of town in an urban city if he loses?

...All you have to do is listen to her talk or answer questions for five minutes to know she's just a hockey mom who shouldn't even be Govenor much less a heartbeat away from the nuclear codes...this is beyond crazy it's suicide. Anyone who thinks she's more qualified than Obama is insane!
What makes you think she'll launch the nukes? If anyone would have, it was Bush/Cheney. They haven't gone near there, not even after 9/11. I must be insane, because Palin IS far more qualified than obama in every way you can name. Besides, let's meet back here in four years and see how popular obama is. The winners in '08 will envy the losers, and whomever wins, will at best be another Jimmy Carter failed presidency. Pain is ahead, and obama's big idea? Raise taxes.

by the way what did you get you PhD in? and at what school?
Proud to say, Philosophy. Now you may laugh. I enjoyed it, and I finally paid off my student loans in 2004. Ashamed to say, the same school as obama: Columbia. It was a conservative school when I went, even though I've always been a centrist democrat. If you visit its law school, in the foyer of Jerome Greene Hall, there are framed photos of all the famous people and supreme court justices who were turned down from Columbia Law School. Harvard infamously accepted unabomber Ted Kacysnski as a student and rejected Warren Buffet. Go figure. I'm no genius, I just kept taking courses, worked like a dog, and spent a fortune for a degree I no longer use professionally. McCain? I think he graduated 894th out of a class 899 at Annapolis. He'd would have fit right in with today's beer-guzzling drunks that pass for students.

The winners in '08 will envy the losers Face it, it is always better to win. In four years, the recession and economic crisis should be over.

True, but Northern Ireland's violence was self-contained and not exported around the world under the guise of Christianity.

Given the task ahead, if obama wins, they won't be rushing out to build statues of him in four years, I promise.

I sure hope you're right on economic recovery, Joe. We should start with energy and move to reclaim our manufacturing base. To do so would require a radical overhaul of the tax code.

Flat tax at 5% anyone? ;-)
