Obama camp responds with the Keating 5

However McCain was cleared of any improper action.

"The Senate Ethics Committee ruled that the involvement of Glenn in the scheme was minimal, and the charges against him were dropped.He was only criticized by the Committee for "poor judgment."The Ethics Committee ruled that the involvement of McCain in the scheme was also minimal, and he too was cleared of all charges against him. McCain was criticized by the Committee for exercising "poor judgment" when he met with the federal regulators on Keating's behalf. The report also said that McCain's "actions were not improper nor attended with gross negligence and did not reach the level of requiring institutional action against him....Senator McCain has violated no law of the United States or specific Rule of the United States Senate."

Not surprised by this but I am surprised that nothing has been said about the Palin "abuse of power" thing.

Well, it was a nothing story until Palin was selected as VP. Then the committee selected to review it (with Obama supporters and angry Republicans) decided to speed up the investigation up effect the election.

She has the right to replace him without reason. That he went around her in requesting earmarks, gave her a reason. That others were upset that he allowed such a man to remain a trooper seems reasonable.
