Debate Impression

It's over. Welcome to an America run by the four of the most liberal members in national government: Obama, Biden, Pelosi and Reid.

McCain did not score an knock-out punch. It was a tie, depending on your views your candidate won. But Obama is in a lead now and remains so. The only hope for the Republicans is that 3% of the people who say they are leaning Obama will actually vote for McCain, i.e. the Bradley effect.

This was perhaps one of the worst "debates" I've ever seen. Tepid, unfocused, and I hate it when they fawn familiarity and walk right up to people's faces. And what the hell was with Brokaw letting them talk for 3+ minutes each, and then crying about running out of time? Both candidates seem frustrated more than angry.

I believe McCain lost this election when he voted for the bailout bill, against the wishes of 95% of Americans. And when both candidates go against the people they represent in our system, the republic is broken. McCain loses by default of having an (R) after his name.

In the end, this is the political spectrum swinging from one opposite to another. From Bush on the right to obama on the left. I don't blame this loss on McCain. He was the best of the lot -- in this odd year -- that the repubs could have chosen based on our insanely long, complex, and expensive party nominating process.

I've always hated Bush because he's a fool, Ivy-league educated (the worst of the worst come from Harvard and Yale, where anyone with the cash can gain entrance), was not a true conservative, and as I say, was not a steward of America's interests, the budget, and economy. As crazy as it sounds, I'm sick of people going to war just to spend money. For once, I'd like a prez who stands up and says to the muslims: "For every American you kill, we will kill 1 million muslims with nuclear weapons. You want crazy? You got it. Keep killing us and pretty soon there won't be a single damn muslim left on the planet."

Maybe the negro Jeremiah Wright was right -- the chickens are coming home to roost -- with obama, who I consider an idiot, verbose, pretentious, and like Bush, has had everything handed to him all his life. He's the very last person we need. Maybe between Nov. 8th and Jan. 20th, he and gwen ifill can write his third autobiography.
