Ohio and Pennsylvania are huge coal markets. Coal produces most of our electricity. Bankrupting coal plants means higher energy costs. So do you think this might have an effect on the election?
Obama: "So if somebody wants to build a coal-powered plant, they can; it’s just that it will bankrupt them because they’re going to be charged a huge sum for all that greenhouse gas that’s being emitted."

Update:
Well, ABC and NBC Nightly News ignored it. So it probably will not make a difference.

Good for Obama this is exactly why he should be President, because he thinks... Jefferson said the people will always get the government they deserve, if the people are good the leadership will be good, no matter what type of system you have, socialist, capitalist, communist, apparently the American people have really sucked these last 30 years, as George Carlin says, because they keep electing politicians that really suck, and then the American people complain about their politicians after they elect them...well this time is different...maybe the American people don't suck so much anymore because hillbilly deliverance red neck types that always vote Republican are now in the minority, now that blacks and Latinos and the new generation of white students are finally getting out to vote and believing their vote will count for something ...for once we may have a Government we deserve and coal plants that put mercury in our food and water and poison our children and accelerate global warming will finally be replaced by much cleaner and economically efficient technologies wind and solar...the end of the mentally retarded Republican party is over...viva Obama!
The Congress has a lower rating the Bush, so I assume you want to get rid of the Democratic Congress also.
