Obama Hypocrisy II

"We can't drive our SUV's and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times..." Barack Obama, May 16, 2008

“He’s from Hawaii, O.K.?” said Mr. Obama’s senior adviser, David Axelrod, who occupies the small but strategically located office next door to his boss. “He likes it warm. You could grow orchids in there.”

"And could this be the same Barack Obama who is looking to sign a stimulus bill that would spend billions of dollars installing millions of "smart meters" that would enable your power company to prevent you from being as comfortable as Bambi on hot and cold days?"

You don't understand how smart meters work, they allow you to sell electricity back to the grid, reducing your electricity bill to zero or even making you money depending on how much you invested in wind or solar power. Solar panels and small roof turbines are coming down in price and increasing in efficiency, soon they will allow homeowners to become energy independent even energy producers. Companies will sprout up financing the whole thing if the homeowner does not have the capital, getting paid back with 10 or 15 years of electricity before owner has amortized the loan. Our grandchildren will not have energy bills, power companies will be nationalized no longer private, because they'll go bankrupt without customers, they'll exist just for the grid, to keep the grid running smoothly. The clean energy business will be bigger than oil. This is the future assuming democrats retain power for awhile.

As for Obama I don't care how hypocritical he gets as long as he's able to rebuild America both morally and economically after the Republicans have totally decimated it, especially morally with their sick perverse destruction ...persecuting poor third world children for 3 decades in South America, the Middle East and Africa, their destruction of the, Geneva conventions, habeas corpus, Palestine and Lebanon, Cuba, ...bringing back torture, secret prisons, Abu Graib....Obama can keep his oval office at 80 degrees for all I care as long as he keeps our country on the moral high ground.

Some smart meters allow the electric company to alter your thermostat, i.e. raising the temperature in your house during hot days so you less electricity. Multiple this by 100,000 homes it can greatly reduce the stress on the grid.

Or they can allow a 93 year old man to freeze to death.

Joe you are really being petty when you start complaining about the temperature of Obama's office. Some people dislike the cold and even have "heated seats" in their car.

I don't care what temperature he keeps his office or home. What I do care about is hypocrisy. It is like when Gore says you need to bike to work but he takes a private jet. It is not good when the leaders say "Do as I say, not as I do."

You must mean hypocrisy in Democrats ONLY. Because otherwise you would have said something about the hypocrisy of some the Republicians in office.
And are you saying that Gore took a private jet back and forth to work everyday? Well "ThinkProgress contacted Gore spokesperson Kalee Kreider, who replied, “Gore doesn’t own a jet.”

When I notice hypocrisy ANYWHERE, I will make a note of it. Did not say Gore either owned or used a private jet to work EVERYDAY.

"Public records reveal that as Gore lectures Americans on excessive consumption, he and his wife Tipper live in two properties: a 10,000-square-foot, 20-room, eight-bathroom home in Nashville, and a 4,000-square-foot home in Arlington, Va."

"And he claims he uses renewable energy credits to offset the pollution he produces when using a private jet to promote his film. (In reality, Paramount Classics, the film's distributor, pays this.)"

So if you are rich you can buy "carbon-offsets", but otherwise you have to live uncomfortable life.

Or you can choose not to live at all as several have decided lately.
