World Shortest Fairy Tales

Saw on the internet

THE WORLD'S SHORTEST FAIRY TALE
Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl "Will you marry me?" The girl said, "NO!" And the guy lived happily ever after and went fishing, hunting and played golf a lot and drank beer and farted whenever he wanted.
THE END

Ginger wrote her own:

Th World's Shortest Fairy Tale
Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl, "Will you marry me?" The girl said, "NO!" And the girl lived happily ever after and had intelligent conversations with her friends instead of having to feign interest in ice fishing and car engines, spent money on lavish, spectacular vacations and none on shotgun shells or fishing bait, got to go home and read after a movie date instead of having to listen to some half-educated ape give his malformed opinion on the plot, had nights of dancing and cocktail parties with nobody to apologize to because there was only cheese and crackers for supper.
The End

I thought fascists were supposed to be pro-marriage, to produce little soldiers for the Homeland. If you're a fascist you should be pro-marriage???? Is Beck against marriage too? What is this guy not against? Maybe now that we can clone soldiers the fascists think we don't need marriage anymore...is that it?

Anyway as a liberal I think marriage is a financial commitment for the children, if you decide to have children, you should be ready to sacrifice your finances and freedom for them, but the rewards are well worth it in my opinion, it is financially easier if the couple stay together, but a couple should not stay together only for financial reasons, they should continue to be in love too, if not they should divorce, not financially, but emotionally only...marriage in my liberal viewpoint, is a financial commitment until the children are financially self sufficient, then financial divorce can follow emotional divorce if necessary. However the rewards of a marriage that works is well worth the loss of freedom and financial sacrifice too, just like the rewards of having children.

Is your world view so warped that you don't recognize humor anymore?

For me it was humour criticizing marriage and children and promoting hedonistic self indulgence, I don't find that kind of humour funny, I find SNL type humour funny, or Sarah Silverman type humour funny or Colbert or Daily Show but not humour like you showed. To me that kind of humour says your're stupid to have children and get married when you'd be better off saving your money and spending on yourself...sorry but that bothers me I don't find it funny. Maybe I'm getting too liberal, you could be right, maybe that shouldn't bother me but it does.
