Are We Moving towards Communism?

The White House now wants people to inform them of people's casual conversations. Shades of Soviet Communism and the Nazis.

"There is a lot of disinformation about health insurance reform out there, spanning from control of personal finances to end of life care. These rumors often travel just below the surface via chain emails or through casual conversation. Since we can’t keep track of all of them here at the White House, we’re asking for your help. If you get an email or see something on the web about health insurance reform that seems fishy, send it to flag@whitehouse.gov."

one link of many

The government is using the taxpayers money to buy the votes of the lower classes. Now it is starting "snitching" efforts. They pass bills they don't read and too fast so the people cant complain/inform their representatives in time. Are we quickly being transformed into a Communist nation?

The government is using the taxpayers money to buy the votes of the lower classes. Now it is starting "snitching" efforts.....are you talking about Bush's domestic spying?

I think you could make a case for America moving towards Communism or Nazism when Bush and Cheney were in power (torture, concentration camps, wars, war crimes, domestic spying, mainstream media "embedded" war reporting, Blackwater, Halliburton, the Patriot Act, Homeland Security, huge prison population explosion, crack down on immigrants, freedom fries, no fly lists, crony capitalism, weakened FDA, EPA etc...but now that they've been voted away, I don't think you need to worry as much any more ... affordable health care for everyone is not communist or fascist, just like affordable education is not communist or fascist...just like labor laws, unions, wearing seatbelts, speed limits, protecting national parks and the environment, no smoking in public places etc is not communist or fascist, it just makes common sense....I would argue we had a lot to worry about when Cheney was controlling the Presidency but since the Democrats won in 2006 and Obama in 2008 things have been getting better, a lot of damage still yet to fix...but getting better nevertheless...what is more worrisome is Obama's escalation of the wars, his lack of severity with the banks and his continuation of wasting way too many tax dollars on the military industrial complex, overseas bases,etc...we elected Obama to fight the fascist forces in America (like Blackwater) and he seems really reluctant to move against them...and why does Obama continue to protect Bush and Cheney by not releasing more info from their administration...that seems worrying to me! We elected Obama to move left with more social progress, more freedom and less (hidden)taxes and not to continue letting banks and military contractors suck our treasury dry like the Republicans.
