Obama Underwrites Offshore Drilling
So why are we borrowing money from China to give to Brazil so they can drill oil for China?
"The U.S. is going to lend billions of dollars to Brazil's state-owned oil company, Petrobras, to finance exploration of the huge offshore discovery in Brazil's Tupi oil field in the Santos Basin near Rio de Janeiro. Brazil's planning minister confirmed that White House National Security Adviser James Jones met this month with Brazilian officials to talk about the loan."
Guess who owns a big portion of Petrobras: George Soros.

"Billionaire investor George Soros bought an $811 million stake in Petroleo Brasileiro SA in the second quarter, making the Brazilian state-controlled oil company his investment fund's largest holding. "
Looks like Soros's investment in Obama has paid off.

I'd rather have people like Soros in the oil business than what we've seen so far, maybe he'll improve drilling methods to be more ecological and stop killing indians, and stop destroying amazon forest etc. the devil is in the details as you say often, what is important to know here is not if Soros is investing but is he changing things for the better!
Soros is not running the business, he is just investing in it. BTW when did oil companies need money? Why does the U.S. need to back the loan. Shouldn't the U.S. be backing oil drilling in the U.S. since it gets a piece of the revenue?
If Soros is investing he is running the business, you don't know how this works I do, I've seen it first hand, investors pick or influence the managers at the top and focus their agenda for them, otherwise they don't invest.
The US is backing oil drilling in the US its the oil companies that find offshore drilling unprofitable right now at current prices, they are waiting for higher prices to drill in US in Brazil it is still profitable at lower prices
