link

from: FRIDAY, JANUARY 15, 1993

Biden Another Quayle?

Well, no, because he is a Democrat and the mainstream media will not hound him like Dan Quayle.

Besides him saying that Obama was not ready to be President in the primaries, and admitting that Hillary would be a better choice, and even asking a wheelchair bound man to stand up, Biden keeps making mistake. The above probably would be played over and over again if he was a Republican, but it is not too bad. He has also denounced his own campaign ad and said Roosevelt was president in 1929.

"When the stock market crashed, Franklin Roosevelt got on the television and didn't just talk about the princes of greed," Biden told Couric. "He said, 'Look, here's what happened.'"

Glass-Steagall Act and the Home Loan Crisis

Link

Some are trying to blame the repeal of the Glass-Steagall Act on the Republicans. A little history. Leach, one of the sponsors, (Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act) recently spoke at the Democratic convention. President Clinton signed the bill in 1999. "The final bill resolving the differences was passed in the Senate 90-8-1 and in the House: 362-57-15".

In addition, Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., chairman of the House Financial Services Committee pushed lenders to give loans to people who did not qualify. "He encouraged the companies to guarantee more "affordable" mortgages, thus abetting their disastrous plungeintosubprime and Alt-A loans. He also pushed for, and got, an increase in the conforming-loan limits to allow Fan and Fred to securitize and guarantee larger mortgages. And he pressured regulators to ease up on their capital requirements -- which now means taxpayers will have to make up that capital shortfall." - WSJ

Jimmy Carter - the forgotten economy.

The Democrats are trying to say this is the worst economy since the great depression. Do they forget Jimmy Carter? Unemployment reached 7.8% in July 1980. Inflation reached 14.76% in March 1980. Interest rates reach 20% in April 1980.

Energy Plan - Bush's

For those who say Bush did not have an energy program, take a look at this article on May 17, 2001 from CNN and tell me what you think.

Forgetting the Past

Why do democrats try to compare the "Bush" economy with the "Clinton" economy. While watching "Your World with Neil Cavuto" today Obama's economic advisor Dr. Laura Tyson ignores the internet dot com collapse, the business scandals that survived under Clinton watch, Clinton's end of termeconomic downturn, 9-11, the cost of the war on terrorism - which include not only physical wars but also all the security measures, and the rise of oil prices due in part to the Democrats not accepting Bush's energy plan and blocking oil drilling.
